Ambitus

Joe Bostian presented the Ambitus project annual review.

CRA Compliance

John Mertic reviewed EU Cyber Resilience Act requirements for Open Mainframe Project sub-projects and recommended project leads complete the Linux Foundation’s training course.

Mertic outlined that reporting obligations take effect in December for qualifying events, with the Linux Foundation serving as the legal entity and CRA steward for regulatory filings. Commercial projects must include a stewardship notice in their SECURITY.md file. Projects are required to report actively exploited vulnerabilities or severe infrastructure security incidents immediately to steward@linuxfoundation.org. Compliance guidelines and templates will be distributed to project leads and published on the Open Mainframe Project site.

OPLEANO

Rudiger Schulze presented the new project proposal for OPLEANO. TAC Voting members will vote to approve the project offline via LFX.

Fall Mentorship

Slanda presented an update on the summer mentorship program, noting that 13 mentees completed unpaid mentorships across multiple projects. Discussion ensued regarding interest from Western University for fall and winter terms, as well as utilizing newly available mainframe infrastructure for mentee development tasks.

Slanda volunteered to socialize fall and winter mentorship opportunities with OMP project leads.
Mike Friesenegger offered to consult with the Feilong project team regarding mentee capacity.

Mainframe Infrastructure Requests

Slanda reported that voting is currently underway for the Jinux socket infrastructure request. Discussion ensued regarding Zowe’s potential infrastructure requirements for multi-LPAR testing.

Slanda volunteered to follow up with representatives for ZCrafter and Lua TSO to schedule project updates. Mertic offered to arrange a coordination meeting between Zowe leadership and IBM infrastructure teams to outline testing requirements.

Landscape and Guide

Mertic requested community volunteers to review non-OMP entries in the open-source mainframe landscape and refine the accompanying draft guide. Discussion ensued regarding logo readability and formatting within the landscape view. Grady and Porell suggested reducing company logo sizes relative to project names to improve visual clarity.
